Coach Valuation: Isolating a Manager's Effect on Results
A statistics project that separates a football team's performance into squad quality and coaching quality. Built a minutes-weighted squad-value metric, fit mixed-effects models across 14 leagues and 20 seasons (2005–2025) to attribute the performance residual to individual coaches, and validated the resulting grades against three independent out-of-sample tests. Shipped as a full interactive site with coach, team, and league pages plus a team-builder recommender tool.
